It 'an integral part of the province of Latina. The municipality has 3307 inhabitants, and this includes, not only the island that bears the same name of the town, but also Palmarola, Gavi, Zannone. These make up the archipelago of the Pontine islands. The island is a popular destination in summer, and tourists come from the more Lazio or Campania. Of rare beauty is the beach known as Chiaia di Luna. Perhaps the most famous beaches of the island is exposed to the west and protected from the winds coming from the north. The thing that makes it unique is the fact that it is accessible by boat, plus a tunnel along the Roman era. The beach was closed by the city because of some dangerous landslides have occurred, but we all hope that soon it might still be visited. At one time the port was greek, and keeps the bottom of this past memory. It is rare to find fragments of amphora dating from the period. Only beach, easily reached from the port and pediments. The competition among the operators that provide the service, has allowed the prices drop significantly, so that now hover around 4 €. There is no shortage of restaurants, bars, nightclubs and hotels and b & b to stay. Island of great charm, in recent decades has become a tourism icon, fun and relaxation.
